For several years, Tyler and John watched as the Woodbury Village Board increased its budget, spending taxpayer money, and creating obstacles for businesses to succeed. Although from different political parties. they believed that if you 're not part of the solution, you should not complain. And so in 2022, they each decided to run for Village Mayor. While opponents, running against each other, they discovered how much they agreed on when it came to many important issues facing the Village. They agreed that the current Village Board was not doing their due diligence and was spending money unnecessarily.
In 2024, the incumbent trustees voted to discard the 2% tax cap thus eliminating any checks and balances on their spending. Over the last few years, Village taxes had increased over 41%! Tax payers were getting hit again!
John and Tyler didn't win the race for mayor but they continued to monitor spending decisions. While collecting old lawn signs from their mayoral campaign, they agreed that the public deserves Village Trustees who do not sit silently at meetings and who simply rubber stamp everything the Mayor wants.
Tyler and John agree that Woodbury's residents deserve 2 new Trustees who will work on behalf of the taxpayers, and who value efficiency and transparency in village government.
Once political opponents, now united, Tyler and John are running for the 2 village seats this November. They formed the party called ONEWOODBURY.
It's time to stop the Village Board from digging deeper and deeper into residents pockets.
